The Guest Bedroom - Homebliss

The Guest Bedroom

The best way to go about decorating a guest bedroom is to go by what feels comfortable and welcoming to you.

Opt for a wall color that you would be comfortable with, and when choosing fabrics and textures, go for the ones that feel as good as they look. You will need to keep in mind that you may want the guest bedroom to look the best, but what will be most vital for your guests would be comfort.

If there is space available, you can add a comfortable chair and a table to your guest bedroom, for times when your guests might just want to sit and relax and may not use the bed for it. Even an upholstered bench at the foot of the bed can serve this purpose if there isn’t enough space to create a separate seating area.

You can add personal touches to your guest bedroom by displaying family photos or artwork that you may have created.

Marine Ply
Marine plywood is a waterproof plywood in which strong face and core veneers are glued together using a waterproof adhesive, ensuring that there are minimal voids in the material so that it is able to perform well in humid conditions resisting delamination or fungal infestation. This makes it a popular choice in areas where water exposure is expected like kitchens and bathrooms in homes, factories and the shipping industry.

Particle Board
This type of board is made from wood chips compressed and glued together as sheets. Its low density and weight make it ideal for tall panels for wardrobe doors even over 9 feet. It comes in a wide variety of colors and is used by many globally reputed furniture brands. It is a great low-cost option when compared with other boards with its only drawback being that it can't stand exposure to moisture, which restricts its use to areas which aren't exposed to water.

Medium Density Fiber (MDF) Board
MDF is an engineered wood made from real wood remnants broken down into wood fibers which are then compressed under high temperatures and pressure and glued together using a special resin. It is available in a wide variety of textures and colors and has a smooth surface that makes it ideal for painting. It is also a cheaper than plywood.

High Density Fiberboard (HDF) Board
HDF is a homogeneous fiberboard with a smooth surface, and is made from fine, highly compressed wood fiber. It is much stronger than MDF and particle boards and can be cut, drilled and even painted due to its flat surface.

Boiling Waterproof Plywood (BWP)
BWP is a highly durable plywood that can withstand exposure to water and high temperatures and is also resistant to borers and termites. All these qualities make it an even better choice than solid wood.
