U-Shaped - Homebliss

U-Shaped Kitchens

A U-shaped kitchen with its additional run of space, is more practical when compared with a single line kitchen or a parallel one. A U-shaped kitchen is best suited for large spaces but also works well in smaller kitchens, as it makes the most use of the available space.

A Tip:

You will need to ensure a moving space of at least two meters between the two opposite working spaces. It’s a good idea if you have a window at the U end of the kitchen, making it an ideal spot to have the sink in.

Marine Ply
Marine plywood is a waterproof plywood in which strong face and core veneers are glued together using a waterproof adhesive, ensuring that there are minimal voids in the material so that it is able to perform well in humid conditions resisting delamination or fungal infestation. This makes it a popular choice in areas where water exposure is expected like kitchens and bathrooms in homes, factories and the shipping industry.

Particle Board
This type of board is made from wood chips compressed and glued together as sheets. Its low density and weight make it ideal for tall panels for wardrobe doors even over 9 feet. It comes in a wide variety of colors and is used by many globally reputed furniture brands. It is a great low-cost option when compared with other boards with its only drawback being that it can't stand exposure to moisture, which restricts its use to areas which aren't exposed to water.

Medium Density Fiber (MDF) Board
MDF is an engineered wood made from real wood remnants broken down into wood fibers which are then compressed under high temperatures and pressure and glued together using a special resin. It is available in a wide variety of textures and colors and has a smooth surface that makes it ideal for painting. It is also a cheaper than plywood.

High Density Fiberboard (HDF) Board
HDF is a homogeneous fiberboard with a smooth surface, and is made from fine, highly compressed wood fiber. It is much stronger than MDF and particle boards and can be cut, drilled and even painted due to its flat surface.

Boiling Waterproof Plywood (BWP)
BWP is a highly durable plywood that can withstand exposure to water and high temperatures and is also resistant to borers and termites. All these qualities make it an even better choice than solid wood.
