Do’s & Don’ts of Closet Storage

How many times has this happened to you – You open the closet to find your favorite pair of denim, and end up messing up the entire closet. Honestly, this happens to many of us, and more often than not! The problem here isn’t the size of the closet you have. The issue is that most of us don’t know how to arrange our closet skilfully, and hence, the mess! But don’t you worry, we’ve got your back! To help you, we bring you the do’s and don’ts of closet storage that will make your life easier and finding things a matter of minutes!

Do: Color-code Your Hangers

Using the same type of hangers helps in creating a seamless and uniformed look in your closet. Wrap the necks of the holders with washi tape to help arrange garments. Use different colors of washi tapes for sleeveless, short-sleeved, and long-sleeved shirts.

Don’t: Use Different sized hangers

Try not to utilize wire hangers that can harm your garments. Additionally, avoid using different shapes and sizes of hangers. Things will be hard to retrieve with holders of various shapes.

Do: Organize Accessories

Do hang bags and other accessories from hooks to keep your closet clutter-free. Install hooks or handles in different heights to keep accessories and bags of different heights.

Don’t: Hang Things Where They Don’t Belong

Try not to hang bags and clothes over the closet door. It isn’t strong enough and may hamper your access to different things.

Do: Save Hanging Space

Do use baskets or storage boxes to store out-of-season garments. Since you won’t be using them regularly, place them on the top-most shelf. Make use of labels to find things easily.

Don’t: Let Clothes Pile Up

Don’t let heaps of clothes take a toll on your life! Once you allow clothes to pile up, you will find your closet falling apart in no time!
